The hotel has some positives like extremely helpful staff who went above and beyond to assist us during a phone disaster. However, the rooms need a serious update as they are outdated, and the decor feels stuck in the past.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms are in need of refurbishment and have outdated facilities. One of the windows was missing, which was a bit odd.
Service
9.0
The staff was very attentive and provided highly responsive service to ensure our comfort and convenience. They were also available to take care of our bags, which was a helpful service.
Location

The hotel is located in a good area in Mexico City, in trendy and relatively safe Polanco. It offers easy access to delicious dining options and is surrounded by renowned artists and designers.
Dining
8.0
The dining experience at the hotel was excellent, with lots of good nutritional food options. I particularly enjoyed the mouth-watering Hungarian beef stew. However, the buffet breakfast was not included in the price, which was a downside.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel's facilities seem to be outdated and in need of a refresh. A refurbishment is overdue to match the excellent service provided.

The hotel feels like being in a suite. The rooms were dated and had a weird smell, plus no window in the bedroom. The service was friendly, polite, and extremely efficient, although some found it snobbish. The location is overrun with automobiles but has been the focal point of thousands of years of evolutionary history. The price felt like a value for money.

The hotel rooms were the best part, facing the internal court and very quiet, providing a peaceful stay. However, the distance from the entrance and frequent electronic key issues were minor inconveniences.

I loved my room facing the internal court; it was so quiet and peaceful. The only downside was the distance from the entrance and the daily key troubles.
Service

The service was very welcoming and helpful; I felt well taken care of during my stay. However, there was an unfortunate incident involving a demand for an additional fee for a friend to visit.
Location

The hotel's location was great, allowing easy exploration of the city's sights, near Polanco and Chapultepec. The historical significance of the area added to its charm, although the immediate surroundings seemed a bit gloomy at times.

Staying at Camino Real was a mixed experience. While the room was conveniently located on the ground floor with direct pool access, it felt old and dated, far from modern standards. The location was a bit inconvenient, requiring frequent taxis to reach popular areas but in close proximity to interesting museums. The dining options were varied but expensive, prompting me to explore outside eateries.

Rooms
5.0
The room inside Camino Real restaurant was on the ground floor with large glass doors leading right to the outdoor pool area. However, the room felt outdated and run down, akin to a Holiday Inn.

My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The location was amazing, surrounded by a rich history and with a soothing ambiance of birds singing every morning. However, the service fell short, lacking helpfulness and warmth, especially in the early hours. The dining experience was pleasant with great choices of fruits, albeit basic continental options. The rooms, while not luxurious, were indeed comfortable despite some creakiness and the absence of easy access to lower levels. Overall, a decent stay with some room for improvement.

My stay at the hotel was a bit of a mixed bag. The rooms were quite a trek from the entrance, and dealing with malfunctioning electronic keys was a hassle. On the bright side, the morning coffee service and club lounge access were convenient. However, the room itself was a bit dated and had a strange smell at times.

Rooms
6.0
Despite the inconvenience of the room location and key issues, the morning coffee service and club lounge access were nice perks. The room, however, was showing its age and had an odd smell lingering.
Service
7.0
The hotel service was a bit hit or miss. While the staff at the room and hotel were polite, efficient, and provided timely event information, there were instances where they came across as rude, unhelpful, and unfriendly.
Location
8.0
The location was a major highlight of my stay. Being in the Polanco district felt safe, with easy access to different parts of the city. However, a negative encounter at the front desk left a sour note.
Dining
7.0
Dining experiences varied during my stay. While the evening dining was acceptable, the difficulty in securing a restaurant spot was frustrating. The variety of food and beverage options made up for it, though.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities at the hotel were a mix of positives and negatives. On one hand, the dated rooms and issues with keys took away from the overall experience. On the other hand, the morning coffee service and club lounge access were convenient.

The hotel had access to a terrace and garden, but the rooms were noisy from outside traffic upon arrival and did not meet the expected size or standard. The service was exceptional, especially with Paul's assistance outside. The location was convenient to walk to many nice areas but was a bit bland. The dining experience was a bit of a letdown due to a limited restaurant situation. The facilities offered access to the terrace and garden.

The hotel was situated in a safe location with a rich cultural history dominating the area. Although not very pedestrian-friendly and some neighborhood eateries closed on New Year's Eve, the proximity to Chapultepec's attractions was excellent. Rooms were lacking in lighting but were quiet and corporate in design. The property had a lot of stairs to navigate, emphasizing the excellent staff. Dining options were marvelous but lacked simple breakfast choices. However, brunch came at an additional cost. Overall, the hotel had some positives, but the darkness in the rooms and the discomfort caused by the empty surroundings were a significant drawback.

The hotel offers spacious rooms with a huge bed, nice balcony, and a good-sized bathroom. Despite being in a dated and somewhat soulless wing with a helipad on the roof, the room was comfortable and had a spacious shower. The service was courteous and the Mexican restaurant served delicious food. It was a bit inconvenient having to walk a significant distance between the reception and the room. The location is perfect for exploring main attractions and top restaurants in Mexico City.
